  27. Not to debate your point, but the fact that CBM feeped up in the chipset
  28. department IMHO does not prove that they were incapable of keeping them
  29. competitive.  It looks more like a management decision to lose the race.

  31. If my memory is correct, the ten-year Anniversary Issue of Amiga Format
  32. featured an interview with Dave Haynie that touched this subject.  To the
  33. best of my memory (confirmation anyone?) he described the orders he got as
  34. "read my lips:  No new chipset".

  36. The general consensus appears to be that AAA could have been finished a
  37. long time ago if it wasn't for active discouragement from the upper echelons.
  38. That's not to say that the general consensus is necessarily right of course.
